A general election was held in the Dominion of Enderron on Saturday 12 October 1940 to elect the 70 members of the 10th Enderronian Legislative Assembly.
The incumbent Enderron People's Party government, led by Prime Minister William Oxley, was re-elected to a second term with an increased majority, defeating the opposition Social Democratic Party, led by Robert Fraser Scott.
Shortly after the election, a wartime coalition was formed between the EPP and the Social Democrats, who nominated several members to act as a de facto opposition frontbench for the purpose of allowing the Legislative Assembly to function normally. The New Democratic Party was not recognised as the official opposition despite being the largest party not participating in government.
