A federal election was held in Enderron on Saturday 15 October 1966 to elect the 125 members of the 6th Enderronian Parliament.
The incumbent seventh-term United Party government, led by Prime Minister Benjamin Thrailkill, was re-elected, defeating the opposition Social Democratic Party, led by Jens Larsson. It was the closest result since the hung parliament result of the 1954 election, with United retaining a 7-seat majority.
The election featured mixed results for both major parties. The SDP, which had been out of office since 1937, again fell short of defeating the government, but made significant inroads in Janszoon, Longshan and Plymouth. On the other hand, it lost ground to United in southwestern Enderron. The liberal New Democratic Party lost its sole seat, held by leader K. T. Wetherill, and was shut out of parliament for the first time since 1923. For the first (and currently only) time since the 1885 election, there were no incoming minor party or independent members of parliament. It was also the first federal election where William Oxley did not lead the main conservative party since 1937.
Turnout dropped for the fifth straight election, dropping to under 50 percent for the first time since 1915, prompting the government to introduce compulsory voting at the following election.
This would be the last election until 2006 where:
- A right-of-centre party was re-elected;
- A right-of-centre party won a majority of seats; and
- The Social Democrats failed to win a plurality of the popular vote.
This would also be the last election in which the United Party won a majority of seats.
