A federal election was held in Enderron on Saturday 16 October 1954 to elect the 100 members of the 3rd Enderronian Parliament.

The result was a hung parliament, with the incumbent fourth-term United Party government, led by Prime Minister William Oxley, losing its majority but retaining a plurality. The opposition Social Democratic Party, led by Gordon Collins, had its best showing since losing government in the 1937 election, but also failed to win a majority. The New Democratic Party, led by Ken Murayama, suffered a major swing, shedding a third of its vote and nearly halving its caucus. Former NDP leader Joe Steele lost his seat of Woodleigh.

Following the election, the Social Democrats and New Democrats negotiated a prospective coalition agreement, with such a coalition pulling equal with the United Party on 49 seats. The formation of a government thus required the support of both independent MPs Edgar Harrison and Robert Truscott. Ultimately, United was able to continue a fifth term in office as a minority government with the support of Harrison and Truscott.

Murayama became the first Asian leader of a party represented in parliament to contest an election.
