The Division of Ipsland is a Craftian federal division in the state of Western Craftia. It was created in 2004 and first contested at the federal election later that year. It is anchored in the northwest portion of the affluent North Shore of Richmond, and is named after local horticulturalist and landscaper John F. Ipsland (1917–1985).
The sitting member, since the 2064 federal election, is Kara Ming, a member of the Craftian Conservative Party.
History
Ipsland was created in 2004 with the entry of Western Craftia as a Craftian state, as a marginal seat on the outskirts of Richmond. It maintained a mortgage belt character and remained highly marginal until the 2030s, when successive redistributions moved it north into the affluent northern suburbs, where it has become one of the Conservatives' safest seats in parliament. The party has held it without interruption since 2028.
Notably, former Prime Minister Bob Ching held the seat from 2010 to 2019.
